OOKAAAY!!! It's time to sign up!
Here are some specifics on the Reunion scheduled for the weekend of August 16-18, 2002 in Ames.
Friday evening August 16th: Informal early bird get together at an as-yet-to-be determined Ames night spot.
Saturday August 17th: Mingling and music at the Great Hall of the ISU Memorial Union. Beginning at 11 AM, you can wander in, look for old friends, leave messages, or just hang out. Festivities will start sometime after 1 PM with music by local artists. Then, starting around 5 PM, there will be a cash bar and a banquet followed by musical entertainment from lots of familiar faces including the Jug Band (for you 60's folks), Redzband (for you 70's folks), Rich Beachler and friends playing jazz (for the late 70's folks). Other musical friends to visit as well. Jam session till midnight.
Sunday August 18th at noon: Picnic at Brookside Park, barbecue sandwiches and all the fixin's. Acoustic music is planned as well.
We have reserved a block of rooms at The Hotel at Gateway Center, a first rate hotel located not far from the ISU Campus. Be sure to tell them you are with the "Ames 60's-70's Reunion" and you will receive a discounted rates as low as $74.00/night. Book your rooms as soon as possible since there are only a limited number available. We've also heard from several Ames residents offering to put up out of town reunioneers. Its beyond our capabilities here to arrange these accommodations, so we suggest that our Ames-residing reunioneers directly contact an old friend or two from the website names list and offer them a place to "crash." (It's one of those 60's things, remember?)
HOW TO SIGN UP:
The pdf file attached to this email, is your sign-up form. Most computers should be able to open this file. Print it, fill it out completely, and return it with your check to the address on the form. We will email you upon receipt. The cost is $42.00 per person ($21.00 for kids/grandkids 12 and under) and covers the dinner and music on Saturday and food for the picnic on Sunday. It's a 60's price!! (Thank you to several volunteer musicians and others.) We've tried to keep the costs as low as possible and to just cover basic expenses, however any additional donations would be greatly appreciated as these would help pay for the Web Site and any unanticipated expenses that will undoubtedly arise.
We urge you to sign up right away as there is a limit on the number of registrations we can accept.
