A quick note about other events taking place Friday August 16th (in addition to our Ames Reunion informal get together at La Boheme Bristro. )
BENEFIT CONCERT AT REIMAN GARDENS
Although not connected to the Ames Reunion, reunioneer Rich Beachler and the band "Door #3" will be playing at ISU 's Reiman Gardens, south of C.Y. Stephens and the ISU stadium from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
Here is Rich's description:
"The instrumentation is harp (the orchestral kind), flute, guitar, bass, and vocals. It's not a Celtic band, more like a cross between It's a Beautiful Day and the Paul Winter Consort... The event does have a $5.00 admission fee (to help support the Gardens...and pay the musicians) but this includes admission to the Gardens, which would be $3.00 anyway. Attendees can peruse the Gardens (which are quite beautiful!) in between sets. "

GATEWAY AFTERNOON JAZZ
Early reunioneers may want to check out happy hour at the Hotel at Gateway Center (the official Ames Reunion Hotel) from 4:30 to 6:30PM. There will be free hors d'ourves and a jazz group. For further information about the hotel go to our "links" page and click on "The Hotel at Gateway Center"
